IDA Foundation Improves the Quality of Its Operations in Providing Medical Goods to Developing Countries With M-Files

IDA Foundation is a Netherlands-based non-profit that makes affordable medicines, medical supplies and diagnostics available to developing countries. Operating in a highly regulated, distributed environment with offices and partners worldwide, the organisation relied on paper, spreadsheets and multiple systems, which made maintaining quality controls and approval workflows increasingly difficult as information volumes grew.

Working with partner GeOne, IDA implemented M‑Files’ cloud-based, metadata-driven document and quality management solution, standardising SOPs and migrating roughly 5,000 documents while linking smoothly to their ERP. The change delivered greater transparency, traceability and compliance, automated review notifications, faster approvals, and measurable time and cost savings, with plans to roll the solution out further across the organisation.
