A M-Files Case Study
vem.die arbeitgeber e.V., a German employers’ association providing legal advice and representation in employment and social law, struggled with large paper-based case files that limited transparency, searchability, storage and the ability of lawyers to work remotely or in court. The paper-centric model also complicated compliance with emerging electronic legal transaction requirements and made it hard to cover cases when colleagues were absent.
The association implemented M‑Files to create case-based digital legal files: paper documents are scanned and classified with standardized metadata, enabling full-text search, deadline management, role-based access controls and offline mobile access for use in court. As a result, staff can find documents in seconds, work securely on the go, maintain clear visibility of case status and deadlines, and run more streamlined, efficient legal processes.
