E tū is a democratic union representing more than 47,000 members across six industries in New Zealand, formed by the 2015 merger of three unions. After the merger it needed to consolidate and centralize document management: staff struggled to find files buried in folders, lacked secure remote access for field-based workers, faced risks from lost ballots and delayed invoices, and required better access controls and workflows on a tight not-for-profit budget.

Working with DocSmart, E tū implemented M-Files, creating structured vaults and automated workflows for accounts payable, membership management, elections, and IT asset checks.
