Keck Medicine of USC, reopening after the COVID-19 peak, needed a fast way to keep patients out of waiting rooms to reduce viral exposure. Lumeon deployed a text-based virtual check-in (patients text READY and wait in their car) in a few weeks and added automated, multilingual appointment reminders to support the effort.
Lumeon’s solution fully integrates with Keck Medicine of USC’s Cerner EHR, removed staff time spent manually uploading CSV files, and outperformed the legacy vendor: 80,000 patients checked in virtually per month, 67% adoption among eligible patients within the first 10 days, and a noticeable reduction in no-shows within weeks.
