The team struggled with missing patient‑reported outcomes because participants rarely opened the study app and surveys expired after seven days, so they engaged Luma Health’s automated text‑reminder and messaging service to boost timely survey completion.

Luma Health implemented consistent, automated text reminders with direct links to the app across 40 research sites and 600+ participants, which standardized outreach and reduced missing data. As a result, participants completed 22.8% more surveys within the first three days and 85.6% of surveys were finished within three days, delivering more reliable and comprehensive study data for the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
