A Lucidchart Case Study
Baruch College, one of New York City's large and ethnically diverse public colleges, needed a simple, cross-platform way for Dr. Mohan’s Systems Analysis and Design students to create and share UML diagrams. Their previous CASE tool produced good diagrams but made collaboration cumbersome—students had to compress and pass files between machines—and the class needed a solution that was easy to learn, worked on any device, and let the instructor unobtrusively monitor progress.
Lucidchart met those needs: a support rep helped set up licenses and collaborators, and the platform’s real-time, browser-based editor allows unlimited simultaneous contributors, seamless cross-device access, and in-editor instructor review. As a result, students move fluidly between home and school, collaborative labs run smoothly, Dr. Mohan saves time opening and projecting the latest work, and the tool is now also used for remote research collaboration.
