Loyola University of Maryland lowers administrative overhead with unified observability

Loyola University Maryland needed to reduce administrative overhead and improve visibility across a rapidly changing, highly distributed campus network. After a major network redesign and the rollout of new services like VoIP and safety devices, the university found its native monitoring tools were no longer sufficient, and it turned to LogicMonitor’s LM Envision platform, including LM Logs, for better observability and flexible alerting.

LogicMonitor implemented SaaS-based monitoring with robust integrations, unified dashboards, and centralized notifications across Loyola’s on-premises, cloud, and network infrastructure. As a result, Loyola minimized overhead, gained consistent visibility, and removed nearly 40 switches from production after identifying underused wiring closets, generating about $5,000 in cumulative electrical savings and $2,000–$3,000 in annual savings from LM Logs consolidation.
