Improving digital engagement with museum visitors

The National Heritage Board (NHB), custodian of Singapore’s heritage and manager of national museums, needed a better way to find and promote visitor photos and experiences as visitor numbers grew. Faced with an overwhelming volume of social media and the limitations of hashtag-only searches, NHB deployed Local Measure to discover on-site visitors and relevant user-generated content at the National Museum of Singapore and the Asian Civilisations Museum.

Local Measure’s engagement platform and publishing suite aggregates geo-located posts, sends real-time alerts, and powers UGC galleries, giving NHB access to 334% more relevant social content, saving 2–3 hours per week of manual work, and driving engagement rates above 50% on live galleries (for example, 5,013 views and 2,562 clicks in one week). Local Measure also showed that 77% of visitor posts didn’t mention the museum or hashtags, enabling NHB to surface previously missed content and expand its social reach.
