A Lionbridge Case Study
Publicly Traded Insurance Company, the largest insurer in America, built a customer-focused mobile app that uses an OBDII-connected device to collect driving telemetry (braking, acceleration, speed, mileage) and surface discounts and driving insights in a web portal. The insurer needed to validate app accuracy in real-world conditions and ensure it could be rapidly updated from customer feedback, so it engaged Lionbridge for specialized mobile app/telemetry testing.
Lionbridge rewrote the RFP and implemented comprehensive real-world testing—packing a van with 100 app-equipped phones and conducting carrier/mobile, terrain (city, mountain, inclement weather), and driving-styles tests in Boise, ID—to stress the app beyond simulator limits. As a result, Lionbridge delivered expanded guidance, a baseline of real-world performance data (not simulated), improved app performance and sustainability, and refined customer-satisfaction ratings that enabled the insurer to improve updates and user outcomes.
