Major Player European Travel Company, a long-time partner of Lionbridge since 2017, needed to understand traveler intentions, safety expectations and changing travel sentiment across nine languages as COVID-19 restrictions eased. Facing questions about who would travel, from where, and what safety information travelers wanted, they turned to Lionbridge for a multilingual digital strategy, drawing on Lionbridge’s digital marketing, content creation, translation and copywriting services and social listening capability.
Lionbridge implemented social listening using the Synthesio platform to monitor conversations, themes, mentions and influencers across multiple European markets. The analysis covered 7,000 mentions, showed sentiment at 48.58% neutral, 29.09% positive and 19.37% negative, and revealed channel distribution (Twitter 79.6%), allowing Lionbridge and Major Player European Travel Company to rank influencers, compare month-to-month trends, and adapt multilingual content and campaigns — enabling targeted safety communications and improved campaign performance across countries.
