A Lionbridge Case Study
Philips Personal Health faced variable quality, long turnaround times, and an inefficient review and publication process for its Directions for Use (DFUs). To meet its goal of a 25% more efficient DFU creation process, Philips selected Lionbridge—using the Lionbridge Integration for Author‑it and Lionbridge’s translation/localization services—to provide a seamless, automated connection with its Author‑it authoring system.
Lionbridge integrated with Author‑it, automated the localization workflow, upgraded Philips’ Translation Memories, and centralized translation and project management to increase standardization and reuse and reduce DTP work. As a result, Lionbridge helped Philips cut translation costs by 40%, lower DTP and project-management overhead, process 4,331 jobs (over 3 million words) in 45 languages in 2018, and realize 188% value on its translation spend.
