Kuoni, one of Switzerland’s leading travel companies, needed to produce travel brochures more cheaply and more efficiently and wanted a single-source solution from content management to print‑ready output. To address fluctuating in‑house capacity and a multi-step, manual translation workflow, Kuoni engaged Lionbridge (formerly CLS Communication) for business process outsourcing (BPO) and language services.

Lionbridge delivered a tailored BPO solution: they integrated former Kuoni translators into their team, linked Kuoni’s brochure/content management system to Lionbridge systems for secure file transfer, added an Online Ordering link, and provided on-site support while handling writing, editing, translation and proofreading using translation databases. Lionbridge’s approach preserved Kuoni’s terminology, absorbed language-resource responsibility, handled volume swings cost‑effectively, and produced more consistent, print‑ready brochures.
