Ultimaker, maker of the Ultimaker S3 desktop 3D printer, needed to find and educate likely 3D-printing advocates within SMBs, build awareness and a business case for the technology, address purchase barriers, and deliver fully qualified leads to sales. The core challenge was turning a technical, education-heavy purchase into high-quality, sales-ready leads at scale.
Working with agency Dept, Ultimaker ran a three-phase See–Think–Do program on LinkedIn using interest, industry and job-function targeting to reach engineers, retargeting and lookalike audiences, and integration with Google Analytics and 6 sense to optimize creative across Video Ads, Sponsored Content and Carousel Ads. The campaign achieved a 13.3% average CTR, generated 4x the target lead volume, reduced CPL to €31 (about 5x lower than prior campaigns) and produced Sales Qualified Leads at €69 each.
