Domo, a cloud-based analytics software company based in American Fork, UT, faced a major challenge when its annual Domopalooza user conference was less than a month away and the global health crisis made an in-person event impossible. Rather than cancel, the team needed to quickly reinvent the conference as a fully virtual experience while preserving the product intimacy, customer interaction, and networking that define the event.
Domo built a dynamic agenda mixing live and pre-recorded content, prioritized audience interaction and behind-the-scenes access, and used LinkedIn’s advanced targeting and re-streaming to promote and host the event. The virtual Domopalooza drew more than 12,000 attendees (nine thousand pre-registrations), represented 80 countries, generated 214 LinkedIn-attributed registrations, and delivered roughly four to five times the attendance of a typical in-person conference.
