Twitter, a global platform that grew from 350 to 3,638 employees and opened offices in 20 countries between 2010 and 2014, faced a communications gap as rapid hiring made it impossible to recruit enough near‑native English speakers. To close that gap and support cross‑office collaboration and career growth, Twitter partnered with Lingo Live to provide one‑on‑one English coaching for international teams.
Lingo Live delivered twice‑weekly, 45‑minute one‑on‑one videoconference coaching, creating a safe space for learners to build confidence and practice English. The program expanded from a 22‑person pilot in Brazil to 129 employees across Latin America, Europe and Asia, reaching learners in 9 countries and achieving 92% lesson satisfaction, 80% reporting greater confidence at work and 67% saying they were more likely to remain with the company because of Lingo Live.
