A Lightspeed Restaurant (U-Series) Case Study
Kenji’s Ramen & Grill, owned by Ken Pluard in Vancouver, WA, needed to improve operations and grow revenue while reducing labor strain. To do that he replaced his legacy system with Upserve POS and adopted Upserve’s online ordering solution to capture demand for takeout and delivery and to avoid high third‑party commissions.
Upserve implemented integrated online ordering that flows directly into Upserve POS, eliminating manual entry and order errors. Within months online orders became just over 10% of Kenji’s monthly revenue (about 20 orders/day), saving roughly 10 minutes per order (over an hour saved per employee per day with 10 orders) and preserving commission dollars — for example keeping $4.55 on a $13 ramen, which scales to nearly $500/month (about $5,500/year) on 100 ramen orders. Upserve’s integration delivered faster, more accurate service and a significant new revenue stream.
