VMware, a global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, faced poor customer satisfaction with a fragmented portal landscape built on legacy platforms. Users were forced to navigate multiple sites and sign in repeatedly, and surveys showed the portal’s interface and navigation hindered routine product and support tasks.

VMware chose Liferay to build My VMware, an integrated, account-based portal providing single sign-on, consolidated content, consistent branding, and modular plug-and-play extensibility. The new portal supports 15 million users (41,000 unique logins per weekday and ~8,000 new accounts daily), delivers unified product and contract views, cut support calls (notably for licensing), improved customer satisfaction and efficiency, and met its go-live timeline.
