Trayton Group launches into the digital era with Lectra

Trayton Group, a Shanghai-based upholstered furniture manufacturer with three factories and 2,000 employees, struggled with a manual fabric and leather cutting process that drove up labor costs, relied on scarce skilled operators, produced inconsistent cut quality, and limited production flexibility.

Lectra implemented an automated solution—Versalis for leather, Vector for fabric and Diamino software for pattern making—while redesigning Trayton’s processes and training staff. The transition reduced material consumption by about 2–3% (around 3% reported), improved cut consistency, let two operators do the work of eight for fabric cutting, increased cutting yield by over 2 percentage points, lowered operational costs and enabled more flexible short-run production.
