Maxwell Industries Making The Leap To Automation With Lectra

Maxwell Industries, a Mumbai-based vertically integrated maker and retailer of undergarments producing over 37 million pieces a year for more than 110,000 local points of sale and export markets, needed to replace a partially outsourced, manual pre-production process to support expansion into India, Africa and the Middle East. The company sought a trusted partner to streamline operations, cut costs and maintain the high quality that built its reputation.

Working with Lectra, Maxwell automated patternmaking, marker making, spreading, cut planning and cutting and brought all cutting in-house using an integrated, lean workflow. The changes reduced fabric consumption by more than 5%, cut rejections by 1%, freed up labor to add value elsewhere, improved product quality and speeded development — results Maxwell is now rolling out to a second plant as it pursues further growth.
