La Moda Brazilian Fashion Brand Gets A Production Makeover

La Moda, founded in 1986 and maker of the Lança Perfume womenswear brand sold in 1,900 outlets, scaled rapidly after moving into women’s apparel in 2006 and by 2012 had grown to 50 times its original size with a factory producing over a million pieces a year. That fast growth left the cutting room without proper processes, and the company needed to update operations to keep production fast and cost-effective while preserving premium quality and original design.

Working with Lectra, La Moda redefined cutting-room workflows and adopted solutions such as Diamino, Optiplan, Vector and Modaris (later adding Kaledo), which streamlined development, optimized production planning and reduced fabric waste. The changes boosted throughput by 30%, cut fabric consumption by 2%, improved margins and agility to respond to trends, and freed resources to reinvest in design and innovation.
