A Lectra Case Study
Kurabo International, a major Japanese textile manufacturer supplying brands like Wacoal and Miki House, faced rising domestic production costs and a shrinking pool of skilled cutters as long‑time employees retired. The company needed to lower costs and maintain high quality and speed to market while bridging a widening skills gap at its Murakami and Takeda factories.
Kurabo adopted Lectra’s Modaris patternmaking software and then added Diamino marker‑making and Vector cutting machines, enabling faster, more accurate fit checks, 20% fewer prototypes, reduced fabric waste, and simpler handling that required about 20% less manpower. The combined solution cut costs, improved yield and quality, and boosted cutting‑room productivity and overall factory efficiency by more than 10%, helping secure domestic production.
