Desiree Streamlines Design While Preserving Artisanship With Lectra's Design Concept 3D

Désirée is an Italian furniture maker known for innovative leather and textile armchairs, sofas and beds that blend artisan craftsmanship with modern design. Faced with industry consolidation and competitors offshoring production, the company needed to increase efficiency and reduce costs without sacrificing its signature design quality or “Made in Italy” identity.

Starting in 2005 Désirée integrated Lectra’s DesignConcept 3D and cutting-room solutions to enable virtual prototyping, early costing and faster decision-making. The tools reduced time and manpower, cut costs by an estimated 20–30%, shortened time-to-production to 8–10 months, and helped the company grow from €750K in 1995 to €8.5M in revenues while preserving craftsmanship and expanding its international presence.
