A Lectra Case Study
Cordeiro Campos is a family-owned Portuguese textile manufacturer founded in 1982 that produces womenswear, menswear and childrenswear (about 300,000 garments a year). Rapid expansion into the international luxury market created pressure to improve quality, speed and efficiency—manual pattern making was wasting time, materials and money and the company needed to reduce physical prototypes and meet tighter seasonal deadlines.
In 2010 Cordeiro Campos adopted Lectra’s Modaris 3D virtual prototyping and visualization, which the pattern-making team now uses daily to adjust silhouettes on screen, view full size ranges and work with flat patterns and 3D simulations simultaneously. The result: fewer physical prototypes, lower fabric costs, faster time to market, more consistent fit and stronger productivity and profitability—helping the company remain competitive, expand its business and earn national recognition.
