PlusDental, a fast‑growing Berlin‑based digital health startup in orthodontics, faced scaling pains after growing from 85 to nearly 190 employees in 2019: there was no structured feedback or performance management, leaving many staff without development conversations or clear promotion paths. To address this, PlusDental selected Leapsome and rolled out its performance and engagement platform (Goals & OKR Management, 360° Reviews, Employee Engagement Surveys, Instant Feedback & Praise, and 1‑to‑1 Meetings) to create consistent feedback processes across the company.
Leapsome was integrated with PlusDental’s HRIS (Personio) and configured for bi‑annual 360° reviews, alternating engagement surveys, instant praise, and access for production staff via on‑site terminals and peer feedback champions. The implementation increased regular, actionable feedback, improved manager‑employee development conversations, surfaced meaningful people‑analytics for leadership, and helped shift company culture toward frequent appreciation — outcomes PlusDental credited with clearer development paths and winning the SME Employee Development category at the 2019 HR Excellence Awards.
