Oregon Health and Sciences University Knight Cancer Institute Decreased Peak Infusion Chair Utilization by 14%

Oregon Health and Science University faced rising patient demand across its infusion centers that produced long wait times, inefficient chair utilization, frequent days over capacity, and rushed nurse lunches. To tackle these scheduling and capacity challenges, OHSU partnered with LeanTaaS and implemented iQueue for Infusion Centers.

LeanTaaS deployed iQueue across six sites (100+ chairs) to smooth daily schedules, enable schedule grooming, and flatten midday peaks, which balanced workloads and allowed more predictable lunches and on-time clinic closures. As a result, LeanTaaS helped OHSU achieve a 39% decrease in days over max capacity, a 14% decrease in peak chair utilization, a 31% decrease in running past scheduled close, and a 5% decrease in drug wait times while increasing patient capacity and reducing overtime.
