Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute Increased Average Daily Completed Volume by 21%

Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute (OCSRI) is a physician-owned oncology group with more than 20 blood and cancer specialists and 300 nurses and associates. OCSRI faced midday patient volume surges, misaligned nurse staffing to daily appointment demand, and uneven appointment starts that led to peaky chair utilization, so they engaged LeanTaaS and implemented iQueue for Infusion Centers.

LeanTaaS’s iQueue for Infusion Centers was deployed at OCSRI’s Tulsa location and level-loaded the schedule to slow midday peaks, better align staffing with demand, and improve nurse/patient interactions. As a result, OCSRI achieved a 21% increase in average daily completed volume, a 23% increase in average daily completed patient hours, a 14% decrease in average infusion wait time during 10am–2pm peak hours, and 90% of patients waiting less than 15 minutes during peak hours, with gains sustained nearly two years later and added capacity without hiring additional nursing staff.
