A LeanTaaS Case Study
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, one of the world’s leading cancer centers, needed a better way to manage the extreme variability in infusion workflows across its high-volume units in New York City and nearby suburbs. After years of trying consulting and internal improvement efforts, the organization still lacked a predictive planning tool to help forecast volume, visit distribution, and resource utilization. LeanTaaS provided iQueue for Infusion Centers to address this challenge.
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center tested LeanTaaS’s iQueue at its 13-chair Gynecologic Oncology Infusion unit in midtown Manhattan to optimize templates, improve daily planning, and use schedule alerts to respond to changing conditions. The results were strong: overall average wait times fell 31%, peak-hour waits dropped 26%, peak-day waits decreased 32%, and volume on the slowest day of the week increased 22%.
