Huntsman Cancer Institute Decreased Average Wait Times by 26% During Peak Hours

Huntsman Cancer Institute, part of University of Utah Health Care and an NCI‑designated center, was struggling with rising infusion volumes that made it difficult to find slots for longer treatments, led to capacity exceedances during peak hours and days, and impacted patient wait times and nurse satisfaction. To address this, Huntsman worked with LeanTaaS and implemented iQueue for Infusion Centers at its 36‑chair infusion center.

LeanTaaS used iQueue for Infusion Centers’ data‑science and machine‑learning driven scheduling templates to optimize infusion scheduling and patient flow. As a result, Huntsman experienced a 16% decrease in average wait times on peak days, a 26% decrease in average wait times during peak hours, and has had 0 days above capacity since implementation.
