A LeanTaaS Case Study
Oregon Health and Science University’s Center for Health and Healing (15 ORs, 91 perioperative RNs and surgical technicians) struggled with a manual, multi‑step staffing process that left service line coordinators, nurse managers, and charge nurses spending up to an hour a day on assignments without a centralized view of staff experience. To address this burden, OHSU partnered with LeanTaaS and piloted the iQueue Staff Planner module (building on its existing iQueue for Operating Rooms deployment).
LeanTaaS implemented iQueue Staff Planner’s Daily Roster as a single source of truth, eliminating duplicate data entry, automating communications, and giving full visibility into staff experience (including orientees and float staff). As a result, OHSU saved 5 hours per week for charge nurses and nurse managers and 20 hours per week for service line coordinators, increased confidence in knowledge of staff experience, accelerated staff robotic competency, and created clearer paths for staff development and safer, more efficient OR staffing.
