Children’s Nebraska Achieved 12% Overall Increase in Volume

Children’s Nebraska, the only full-service pediatric healthcare center in Nebraska, faced capacity constraints that limited access to care: surgeons underutilized assigned OR block time but hoarded it due to a scarcity mindset and low trust in historical block-allocation data, staffing pools were small across nearby facilities, and seasonal case surges shifted demand quickly. LeanTaaS implemented iQueue for Operating Rooms (Analyze, Collect & Allocate, and Exchange modules), beginning validation in Sept 2021 and launching system-wide in Feb 2022, building surgeon trust and providing a single source of truth for OR data. The tools made open time easy to claim, aligned specialists on hybrid cases without exposing PHI, and reduced scheduling churn via configurable room access; within one year Children’s Nebraska saw a 12% increase in volume, 25% improvement in release proactivity, 45% improvement in request proactivity, a 4% gain in overall Block Utilization, and a 7% improvement in Prime Time Utilization.
