A Lattice Case Study
Goldrich Kest, a California real estate firm with properties spread across the U.S., struggled to keep employees connected, engaged, and developing as the company grew beyond a “management by walking around” culture. CEO Michael Drandell also wanted to move away from an annual review process he felt was ineffective and overly focused on checklist-style feedback. Lattice, especially its 1:1 feature, was introduced to support more continuous, meaningful check-ins and development conversations.
With Lattice, Goldrich Kest rolled out a top-down feedback culture starting with the CEO and extending to the executive and director teams. The company used Lattice 1:1s to capture notes, surface issues early, and shift from numeric ratings toward more qualitative performance discussions, with plans to expand individualized goals company-wide. While the case study does not cite hard numeric results, Goldrich Kest reported stronger engagement, better visibility into “soft spots,” and a more practical framework for ongoing employee development through Lattice.
