A LANSA Case Study
Yachiyo Industry, a Japanese automotive parts manufacturer, faced significant challenges with its fragmented and outdated Information Systems department. With a lack of a standard development environment and most projects outsourced, the department was inefficient and misaligned with business goals. To reform its operations and bring development in-house, the customer chose LANSA, specifically the LANSA Xi development platform, as its new standard.
By implementing LANSA's integrated development environment, Yachiyo was able to consolidate its programming skills and dramatically reduce the lines of code needed for applications. The result was a remarkable improvement in development speed and cost savings. Their first project, a parts molding process system, was developed in-house in just three months for a fraction of the quoted external cost. This success enabled LANSA to help Yachiyo standardize its development, align its IS department with business objectives, and plan for the rollout of similar systems across its operations.
