Web shop Bestel XL handles 60 percent of Deli XL orders

Bidfood Netherlands is a leading foodservice wholesaler serving 25,000 customers with over 60,000 products. After a strategic shift to packaged, outsourced systems and a cancelled SAP ERP migration, the company was left with a legacy in-house ERP and limited responsive web development skills. When eCommerce asked for a customer loyalty program, Java/ATG development was judged too slow and costly and other low-code options were prohibitively expensive at scale.

Bidfood evaluated LANSA’s modern low-code platform, built a successful POC, and an internal developer delivered the integrated loyalty app in about 15 days. The app uses SSO with ATG, stores points and customer balances in the ERP, and automatically fulfills gifts with the next order. The solution drove a 15% uplift in sales of participating products, cost roughly one-third of the Java alternative, and has enabled Bidfood to rapidly build further responsive web and mobile apps in-house.
