The Principality of Andorra Lifts Productivity With Lansa

The Principality of Andorra’s Departament de Sistemes d’Informacio (DSI) provides and manages IT systems for all government services—finance, customs, health, education, justice and more—for a small national administration. Needing to standardize development, secure data and support multiple platforms beyond its historical RPG/iSeries environment, DSI sought a single, high‑productivity CASE tool to reduce maintenance and speed delivery of reliable, documented applications.

Since 1992 DSI has used LANSA (LANSA for iSeries, LANSA Open, Visual LANSA and LANSA for the Web) to reengineer core systems and deliver client/server and web services—ranging from real‑time election management to vehicle registration, tax portals and license renewals. The deployment produced higher developer productivity via a shared repository and single skill set, consistent multi‑platform reliability, faster citizen services (eliminating long queues) and responsive vendor support.
