A LANSA Case Study
The Greenery B.V., a €1.6 billion European fresh-produce distributor, needed to modernize and speed up its auction and sales processes while keeping a LANSA-based iSeries core (USVA), a Windows auction system (GreenMate) and external partners in sync. Their legacy outsourced auction and batch/manual data transfers caused delays, interrupted live auctions, and limited online bidding, so they required fast, reliable real-time integration that would let them adopt best-of-breed packaged solutions without tight coupling.
They implemented LANSA Integrator, using Remote Function Invocation to push and pull live product, buyer and transaction data between GreenMate, USVA and other systems, with automated refreshes and queued transfers for less dynamic data. The result was immediate, reliable sales posting to the core for invoicing and distribution, smoother auctions with remote bidding enabled, elimination of manual file handling and fewer auction interruptions — giving The Greenery better control, faster operations and the flexibility to replace systems without breaking integrations.
