Stone Wheel, a car-parts distributor with 15 warehouses serving more than 2,500 independent repair shops in the U.S. Midwest, needed to extend its “hotshot” half-hour delivery promise and fix inefficient phone/fax ordering. In a fiercely competitive market where repair shops can’t stock every part, Stone Wheel had to speed order processing and expand rapid delivery coverage to retain customers and grow volume.

Stone Wheel worked with Sparkhorse and DST to deploy a LANSA-based AS/400 web ordering solution that integrates with their parts-distribution backend. Built quickly after a focused JAD session, the system exposed 100,000+ parts online, eliminated re-keying, sped fulfillment, lowered costs and increased customer order volume by roughly one-third while supporting reliable, rapid deliveries.
