Shoe-d-vision Runs Faster With Lansa for the Web

Shoe-D-Vision is a Danish retail cooperative serving nearly 300 Skoringen, Feet Me and zjoos stores in Denmark and Norway with a central iSeries ERP (SHOEerp) and a PC-based back-office (SHOEit). Despite automated overnight updates, shops still relied on phone, fax and mail for stock inquiries, promotional orders and received 270,000 outgoing invoices a year — a costly, labor-intensive process limited by office hours that needed 24x7 ordering and better invoice handling.

The company deployed SHOEweb using LANSA for the Web (with partner Futura Data), integrating real-time stock, order entry, scanned vendor invoices and automated promotional ordering into the ERP. The result: about 200 web orders/week, eliminated paper invoicing (ROI under four months), saved postage and roughly 1.5 FTE, sped up invoicing and payments, cut processing time by 15+ hours/week and reduced calls and manual work — all built and maintained by a small development team.
