Piraeus MultiFin SA, an Athens‑based specialist in automotive, motorcycle and marine financing that works with more than 400 dealerships, faced an aging 5250 green‑screen core system that limited usability, integration and real‑time collaboration with dealers and partners. With pressure to improve customer service and reduce costs, the company chose to modernize its line‑of‑business application to support Web access and tighter Office and partner integration.
Using Visual LANSA Framework, a small in‑house team (with LanSoft support) converted the legacy system into a secure Web application, redeveloping roughly 1,000 programs and exposing services to dealers, collection agencies and internal teams. The new solution improved workflow and data quality, enabled direct dealer loan entry and MS Office integration, cut application‑to‑approval times, reduced errors and administrative costs, and boosted customer service and competitiveness — all achieved with modest resources.
