Pernod Ricard Synchronizes Data Using Gs1 Standards

Pernod Ricard USA, the leading premium spirits and wine supplier in the U.S., needed to modernize how it shared product and pricing information with customers. The company relied on email and spreadsheets, and many retail-level attributes required by GS1/GDSN were scattered across documents and affiliates rather than in its JD Edwards ERP or data warehouse. Facing imminent customer requirements for standardized data exchange, Pernod sought a solution it could deploy on its own timetable.

Pernod selected LANSA Data Sync Direct to integrate with its JD Edwards system, data warehouse and the 1SYNC data pool to publish GS1-compliant GTIN and GLN data to the GDSN. The implementation was rapid and phased—going live with major customer groups within months—and centralized previously fragmented product attributes. Results included higher data quality, automated updates to subscribed customers, reduced manual spreadsheets and email, improved SKU alignment for two-way retail reporting, and a scalable framework for future integrations.
