Case Study: STRATTEC achieves six-fold faster shipment processing and automated EDI with LANSA

A LANSA Case Study

Preview of the Strattec Case Study

Lansa Holds the Key for Strattec

STRATTEC Security Corporation, headquartered in Milwaukee, is the world’s largest producer of automotive locks, keys and related security products. The company’s heavily customized System21 ERP had inefficient screen navigation, manual order-entry and EDI processes, and fragmented integrations across plants and distribution centers. STRATTEC wanted to streamline its most cumbersome procedures and preserve existing business logic without rewriting the core application.

By implementing LANSA RAMP and LANSA Composer, STRATTEC consolidated screens, automated EDI/XML order retrieval and mapping, and replaced repetitive manual tasks with streamlined workflows. The changes cut a warehouse shipment process from about 2.5 hours to 24 minutes (six times faster), saved over 25 staff hours per week on the first aftermarket customer implementation, and let a small internal team deliver significant productivity gains without rewriting System21 or hiring specialized EDI/XML/Java experts.
