A LANSA Case Study
John Wiley & Sons, a global publisher of scientific, technical and medical content, needed to consolidate and modernize its Book Project Management (BPM) system as it moved from regionally managed operations to a single global platform. The existing mix of green‑screen and web interfaces had to become a web‑accessible, modern application with a familiar look and feel, broad user access (employees, editors, assistants, college personnel), and easy integration with other systems.
Wiley adopted LANSA’s RAMP framework to recompose and expose existing 5250/green‑screen business logic in a graphical web interface, incrementally rolling out modules and integrating work from internal and outsourced teams. The approach avoided a costly rewrite or limited screen scraping, delivered the web solution quickly, preserved existing business rules, and achieved strong user adoption and satisfaction.
