Agilysys, a global provider of hospitality software, needed to give LMS clients a fully integrated online hotel reservation extension that leveraged the core LMS inventory, rating and customer data. The challenge was to deliver this web capability using the same in‑house development team that maintains LMS and to use a tool that could work directly and securely with the LMS backend without outsourcing web development.

Agilysys used Visual LANSA to extend LMS with the ResNet online booking system, reusing existing software, infrastructure and skills for a fast, low‑risk rollout (the team became productive in about two weeks). The result was the world’s first real‑time, fully integrated online hotel booking system—now used by hundreds of hotels—providing secure access to live inventory, ratings and credit authorization plus enhancements like mobile check‑in/out, multi‑room booking and suggestive selling.
