A LANSA Case Study
High Liner Foods, one of North America’s largest processors of frozen seafood and pastas, needed to shift from a paper-based, fax-heavy procurement process after moving to global sourcing. Communicating detailed shipping and quality information with overseas suppliers was slow and error-prone, and the company needed a way to track containers and share up-to-date demand from its JD Edwards ERP system.
High Liner built a LANSA-based virtual supply chain and web portal integrated with JD Edwards, enabling suppliers to view forecasts, confirm orders, and enter detailed container and quality data; LANSA also handled EDI integrations (including real‑time orders from major retailers) and other web extensions. The solution eliminated much paperwork, improved real-time visibility and control across the supply chain, sped order processing and EDI handling, and freed staff to focus on supplier collaboration and growth initiatives.
