Eagle Replaces Dispatch Board With Visual Lansa

Eagle Systems, part of the Eagle Group and a leader in North American intermodal transportation, faced an inefficient, paper-based dispatch process built around physical T-cards that was error-prone, siloed, and required manual billing entry. Dispatchers could only access load information at terminal planning boards, making coordination difficult for the high-frequency, short-haul moves typical of intermodal operations.

Using the Visual LANSA Framework, Eagle developed eDray, a drag-and-drop Windows dispatch system that integrates directly with its Synon 2E iSeries logistics and billing database. LANSA Integrator adds SMS driver messaging and EDI customer updates, eliminating manual data entry, improving accuracy and accessibility, and uncovering hidden procedural exceptions. The system was built by one developer in about nine months, reduced phone traffic and errors, and positioned Eagle to modernize more terminal applications for greater long-term efficiency.
