A LANSA Case Study
Musashino Corporation’s Duskin Cleaning Services, a Tokyo-based distributor of rental cleaning goods and services, relied on paper customer lists and evening manual data entry to track collections and deliveries across 50–60 offices and about 100 homes per day. This paper-based workflow caused frequent inventory errors, long after-hours data entry, and heavy manual workload, and the company needed a mobile solution that could work offline in the field while integrating with its IBM i ERP when online.
The company built a native mobile app with LANSA LongRange for iPads that downloads daily client lists, allows offline updates at customer sites, and synchronizes instantly with the IBM i system when staff return to the office. The result: more accurate and consistent inventory and account settlement, immediate data processing (saving ~20–30 minutes per salesperson), elimination of the monthly stock-take, earlier day-end completion, and a solution the company now plans to commercialize.
