Distribution Solutions Inc. (DSI) is a U.S. logistics, distribution and transportation provider with more than 1.2 million sq. ft. of warehouse space, 100 trucks and 500 employees, offering services from Garment-On-Hanger to just-in-time store replenishment. Facing disparate customer requirements and a largely manual process, DSI needed a flexible, easily customizable warehouse management system (WMS) and reliable electronic data exchange to integrate varied customer IT systems and speed fulfillment.

DSI built an integrated WMS on the LANSA platform and uses LANSA Integrator for AS2/EDI, web, FTP and email communications, along with wireless scanners and handheld devices for real-time inventory updates. The solution automates workflows so over 85% of orders are processed electronically, hundreds of orders can be uploaded in minutes instead of hours, accuracy and customer visibility improved, costs were reduced, and a two-developer IT team now supports a highly scalable, reliable supply-chain operation.
