A LANSA Case Study
Control Systems Software (CSS) is a user-owned software vendor that builds the CONTROL financial application for agribusiness cooperatives running on IBM Power Systems. As members began demanding a modern, graphical front end and improved functionality, CSS faced the challenge of moving off a legacy green‑screen interface without discarding the business logic their customers relied on.
CSS partnered with LANSA and used its RAMP development framework to modernize CONTROL (a project called MOCA), reusing existing code while adding a point‑and‑click GUI, drill‑down reporting, PDF spool files, and Excel export. Rolled out after a successful beta with Stratton Equity, the update simplified training, boosted productivity, enabled automatic updates for members with limited IT staff, and delivered a modern, cost‑effective solution without rebuilding the application from scratch.
