Alfa (formerly CHP Consulting), founded in 1990, is a leading provider of asset- and vehicle-finance software and consulting. Faced with the need to deliver a flexible, scalable, cross-platform solution that could perform complex financial calculations, support high volumes and let consultants focus on business problems (not infrastructure), Alfa sought a development approach that avoided re‑writing core logic for new interfaces and platforms.

Alfa built its business logic entirely with LANSA/Visual LANSA, using LANSA virtual fields and an XML messaging layer (Alfa/XA) to enable web, mobile and SOA integration. The result was rapid, maintainable multi‑platform deployments (Windows, IBM i, Linux), benchmarked capacity for millions of contracts and thousands of users, on‑time/on‑budget rollouts, fewer developers per project and new offerings such as Pocket‑Quote and Alfa Web Tier.
