A LANSA Case Study
The CBH Group, Australia’s largest grain co‑operative, needed to replace an aging, character‑based core system to support grain receival, storage, transport and marketing across nearly 200 sites and millions of tonnes of grain. With Synon proving slow and limited, CBH required a modern Windows and web development environment that could deliver richer user interfaces, faster development cycles and seamless integration with systems like SAP and port controls.
CBH chose LANSA (with partner Lateral WA) to build IBIS (a rich‑client core system) and LoadNet (a web portal for growers and stakeholders), running on IBM i and integrated via Web services and WebSphere MQ. The solution sped development, enabled reuse, and unified access to pricing, contracts and billing; delivered better services and pricing transparency for growers; improved logistics and invoicing; and proved highly reliable and widely adopted—giving CBH greater agility and a tangible competitive edge.
