C H Jones, the UK’s leading independent fuel management services company, needed to modernize a Synon-based core system that relied on paper, faxes and phone calls for card issuance, annual card re-issues and transaction reports. Manual processes created high error rates, heavy staff overhead and poor real-time visibility for customers, so the company sought a web solution to improve service, reduce costs and retain its market lead.
Using LANSA, C H Jones converted its Synon model and launched Efuels — a web portal built in under nine weeks — that lets customers manage cards and accounts, view real-time stock and transactions, request PDF reports and locate sites. The rollout doubled card-maintenance productivity (allowing two people to handle work previously done by four), cut paper and phone overhead, improved customer satisfaction and set the company on track for ~80% online engagement within a year.
